This article describes three interrelated multidisciplinary research projects that examined environmental health issues facing First Nations in Canada. The first gathered data on the consumption of traditional foods, their contributions to nutrition and the risks these foods pose to human health due to exposure to chemical contaminants. The second was a biomonitoring project and the third focused on indoor air quality.
