Description

The Martuwarra Fitzroy River Council was formed as a model of collective governance to maintain spiritual, cultural and environmental health in the constituency. This article critiques the exploitation of water resources and presents the Council as an alternative governance model, developed by indigenous leaders in West Kimberley to address challenges with existing governance models.
