High Blood Cadmium Levels are Not Associated with Consumption of Traditional Food among the Inuit of Nunavik

2007

Rey, M., Turcotte, F., Lapointe, C., & Dewailly, E.

Description

This sample of a population of Nunavik residents verifies the hypothesis that the Inuit may be exposed to cadmium through their diet. The study showed that blood cadmium levels were elevated compared to other published reports, but were more closely related to smoking status than non-smoking dietary habits.
