Global DNA Hypomethylation is Associated with High Serum-Persistent Organic Pollutants in Greenlandic Inuit

2008

Rusiecki, J.A., Baccarelli, A., Bollati, V., Tarantini, L., Moore, L.E., & Bonefeld-Jorgensen, E.C.

Description

In this study, the authors sought to assess the link between persistent organic pollutants (POPs) in plasma and global DNA methylation extracted from blood samples taken from Inuit living in Greenland. They found an inverse association between the concentrations of several POPs in the blood plasma that merit further analysis.
