Durkalec, A., Furgal, C., Skinner, W.M., & Sheldon, T.

Description

Using a case study protocol and a collaborative approach, the authors examine the role of location and the impact of sea ice changes on the mental, cultural and social health of a community of Nain, in northern Labrador. The findings of the study indicate that climate change is exacerbating the environmental dispossession that Inuit already feel, highlighting the need to consider the different meanings given to place and the cultural and socio-historical context in the assessment. impacts of climate change on Indigenous environmental health.
