Health Status at Birth of Inuit Newborn Prenatally Exposed to Organochlorines

1993

Dewailly, E., Bruneau, S., Ayotte, P., Laliberté, C., Gingras, S., Bélanger, D., & Ferron, L.

Description

Given the unusually high body burden of organochlorine compounds among Inuit women from the Kativik region of Quebec, the authors investigated the possible effect that exposure in utero to organochlorines has on the health status of newborns. The authors observed some statistically significant associations between height at birth and the concentration of some organochlorine compounds.
