Nursing Inquiry
This article provides clarification of the concept of cultural safety and reviews the historical shift of nursing attitudes that have contributed to the viability of 'cultural safety' in nursing practice. Comparing between eugenics and cultural safety, the author argues that cultural safety has allowed nurses to develop a more reflective, critical understanding of their actions but evidence to evaluate its impact in practice remains sparse.
