The authors use modeling techniques to estimate the effect of Inuit diet and the intake of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), and methylmercury on myocardial infarction risk among Inuit in Arctic Canada. Findings suggest that intake of EPA and DHA diminishes the adverse effect of methymercury on myocardial infarction risk in this population.
