This thesis examines the Hamilton Health Association's (HHA) claims-making activities regarding TB in 1953-63 related to the Mountain Sanatorium for Inuit from the Eastern Arctic. Specifically, it examines how the HHA constructed TB as a problem, how it understood the problems and solutions of TB, whether they considered social determinants of health in their control and reporting of the disease, and their portrayal and treatment of Inuit patients.
